At OTD TechDays 2026 at Sotra Arena on Straume on 14 and 15 October, Tore Andreassen, Ole Johnny Støverstein, Helene Kleppe, Birthe Østerbø and Åshild Irene Østerbø were at the HyCom stand. New mini purification unit for hydraulic oil
This year’s new feature at the stand was a mini purification unit for filtering hydraulic oil. The unit also removes water from the oil.
“This purification unit came about because customers have asked for smaller, portable purification units they can move onboard a large vessel, where they have several systems they want to filter the oil on.”

The purification unit is designed and developed by our own engineers, who drew up and figured out how it should be built and work.
Piping where the job is
We also brought a portable pipe bender, to show that HyCom does piping.
“A great deal of the work we do happens outside the workshop. It is offshore, maritime and factories. That is where piping is needed,” says project associate Ole Johnny Støverstein.

“Really fun to be at a fair. Really nice to have customers and suppliers visit, and nice to walk around and see their exhibitions,” says Ole Johnny.
